Skip the incidental hold at check-in
ClearHold™ is guest-paid incidental protection. One flat fee at check-in replaces the traditional card hold — so you're not waiting on the bank to release your money after checkout.
Your ClearHold status updates in real time on your stay screen.
The usual way
The hotel freezes $100–$500 on your card.

What ClearHold does and doesn't cover
- Accidental room damage
- A spill, a stain, a broken lamp
- Intentional damage or theft
- Minibar, room service, valet
More detail
You still pay for your own stay — room charges, valet, meals and minibar go directly to the hotel when you use them. Coverage for accidental room damage scales with your stay: up to $75 for 1 night, $125 for 2 nights, $200 for 3 nights. The fee itself is $14.99, $24.99, or $34.99 + tax, depending on which one your hotel sets. ClearHold is optional; you can decline it at check-in and let the hotel run a traditional card hold instead.

What counts as "accidental damage"?+
Unintentional harm to the room or its furnishings during your stay — a spilled drink on the carpet, a broken lamp, a stained towel. It does not cover intentional damage, theft, missing items, or normal wear and tear.
What if damage exceeds my coverage limit?+
ClearHold pays the hotel up to your tier's limit ($75 for 1 night, $125 for 2 nights, $200 for 3 nights). Anything above that is billed to you directly by the hotel — the same way it would be without ClearHold.
Is the ClearHold fee refundable if I don't damage anything?+
No. It's a flat protection fee, not a deposit — similar to travel insurance. You pay once at check-in and nothing is held against your card during the stay.
How is this different from a normal hotel deposit hold?+
A traditional hold freezes $100–$500 of your own money on your card for the whole stay and days after checkout. ClearHold is one small flat fee — your card is never held, frozen, or on file with the hotel for incidentals.
What stays are eligible?+
Stays of 1, 2, or 3 nights. Coverage scales with length: $75 / $125 / $200. The fee is $14.99, $24.99, or $34.99 + tax, depending on which one your hotel sets. You see your exact price before you pay.
